KBS Caveat Emptor

in: Bread
Spread the love

I am a bit sad today: I have been a huge supporter of KBS. And, as long as I can otherwise nurse this baby along I will. Meanwhile I will likely continue to post the more generic notes about my use of the KBS and other bread machines here.

One of its selling points is the two year warranty.
We have been having an issue for the last few loaves so I began the (TEDIOUS) Process of contacting amazon after repeated no response from KBS.

In round 1: I was given an 800# and email for a local cleaning company located Oceanside California (KBS-Services.com_ Hard to say who was more confused – the guy who answered the phone or me – but he was very polite and I thanked him for that courtesy.

Round 2 was a referral to Seller Assistant: Amazon acting as go between. AMAZON’s process to assist you with reaching a seller.

Round 3: Sent Message to Seller… Here is the response we received: Pretty much SOL this is the 2nd time this month an AMAZON did not deliver as promised and AMAZON is not back it up other than a partial refund offer (we will see if that helps. ) Do as they say Caveat Emptor – Because as they also say If it looks too good to be true (2 yr warranty on a product from a manufacturer whose other OEM usually die at 6 months) It probably is (too good to be true.

Dear xxxxx xxxxxxx

I purchased my KBS breadmaker on Amazon on December 28, 2023. The first 4 loaves were great, except that the paddle was a bit of a tug, to say the least, to get it out of the bread pan. No biggie, an overnight soak with dish soap took care of the problem. Then, my 5th loaf, everything is in the pan, I plug in, press start, the lights come on and nothing. The timer is running, but no stirring, kneading, nothing. I did all the troubleshooting. Over the course of probably 2 hours I went through numerous tries and finally pulled the mixture out, mixed it up by hand and threw it in the oven. I know there are a lot of bread bakers who prefer this method—I’m not one of them! I got no satisfaction from Amazon because I was about 6 days past their return window. Contacting kbs—numerous emails—I will have to wait till march sometime because they are out of machines. I’m pretty unhappy with Amazon and they are not standing behind

Sorry I hit the wrong button! Anyways to finish my diatribe, I feel pretty jerked around by KBS as well with how well they handle the warranty process, I.e., couldn’t find my order No., wanted a video of the problem, which I found pretty hilarious (how do you video putting ingredients in pan, turning it on, it lights up, you press start, going through this process numerous times, the time ticks down but nothing is happening?) And they do not have a replacement to send me even though Amazon is still advertising it?? Yeah right. Thanks for listening.
