Make no mistake – before cable – I believed PBS was the best the NY area TV ad to offer.

And I always thought is was just stupid when tax code changes made it difficult for major Corporations to continue their support of the Arts, PBS, Museums and all the other worthwhile institutions that have suffered from the greed for the power of the purse by legislators at all levels.

And yes, it may well be true that PBS represents less than .00014 of the US Budget,

Still my daddy always like to quote founder Ben Franklin
“Watch the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves”

We really need to start with the small stuff, I don’t know maybe a law that only allows vacations paid for with tax dollars must be spent within the US.

Maybe if there were fewer to trips to Spain, Africa, Mexico, and apparently soon Brazil or Venzuela and of course – the cost fundraising travel – I would support moving those “savings” to PBS appropriations.
