It looked so simple, just follow the instructions (well I thought I did) and whatever new bell or whistle included would appear.
INCLUDE being the operative word here. There I was, all happily upgraded (ignorance can be bliss) being inordinately proud of myself for having done this without assistance.
Everything is great until I hit SAVE – poof, up comes
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: maybe_serialize() in /home/evilscie/public_html/wp-admin/admin-functions.php on line 937
No maybe about it, serializing not happening.
Normally this would have been a tiny problem, TH is out of town and up to his ears in meetings. Don’t want to bother him but, after several days of not quite finding the info I need – I confessed, gave my usual, I am sorry, I really should have told you further.
And of course, since I had posted a message AFTER the upgrade, managed to completely forget it was part of the scenario.
Well, at least THIS TIME, I did back up everything, so while I couldn’t get a post to publish, at least I did not lose everything … like the last time.
Fortunately TH is quite good at seeing through the magic smoke of software, and found the following link.

Here’s hoping this “posts” without incident

Words are so interesting, not just the ones we make up, or as TH would say, Speaking In Wheat – when I am tired I can spit out an entire paragraph with no sentence in “order”
But then there are words we all “think” we know what the other means when they use them.
And there are the wars that can result when really do not.
More interesting there are Abbreviations – acronyms and initialisms and buzzwords – MMOG can those all ever get you in trouble out of context.
Maybe I need to do is ask more often what people mean, and then explain what I think certain words mean and we can have a dialogue instead of a war of words.
What do you think?

A Horse Whisperer is one who not only attempts to lead the horse to water, but also attempts to make them drink.

Sometimes you have to do things just because you trust your friends. There isn’t enough time in the universe to do it all yourself
So Tink said I needed to make sure to claim my blog with Technorati, and Technorati said I have to post a message with the following link.

DANIEL CRAIG,
We love action movies – you know the kind you can lose yourself for an hour or two without straining your brain.
Ever since Sean Connery stopped being Bond, James Bond that is… I have not really enjoyed Bond movies…. at all.
So had been stalling each time TH mentioned going to see the new Casino Royale – well on Saturday we ran out of errands – (meaning I was out of excuses) in time to make the “matinee/cheap/1/2 price” show at our small local threater
Wow I am glad I did. The only even vaguely negative thought throughout the entire movie was a fleeting during the first few minutes of the movie – “MMG how can they possible make the rest of the movie as good as this sequence”
Well they did so Ladies and Gentleman, even though
- Roger Moore was a clown,
- Timothy Dalton was dreadful,
- Pierce Brosnan was, well, not believable, but with his looks and mannerisms a woman can forgive a lot – especially when you consider that fencing scene.
- Then there are the other guys whom I cannot even remember – maybe its post-traumatic stress amnesia – their Bonds were so bad, I have to block it from my conscious mind
For me, Bond will always be about believable action and THE LOOK.
It is the look that says, when serious, you are in a world of trouble
And when it has that smirky quirky smile, it says you are about to fall into a whole different kind of heartache – good and bad.
Sean Connery has it and no Bond since him could do quite so much with either the Dead Serious or Smirky Quirky Boyish Babe catching lopsided closemouthed grin.
That first few minutes will rival the plaza scene from Heat (another movie with guys who can do the “look” and firmly set the tone,
It is true
BOND IS BACK
And His Name Is
