Comments (2)Recently while browsing I found out that according to some people search engine, I a male (not), 80 (not), live in NY (not anymore), but hey! 2.5 outta 3 ain’t so bad.
So when I got this in email, and in the words of the former NYC Mayor Ed Koch, if you agree with a political position, 80% or more, you own it.
So, it would seem turns out, I’m a Red Neck
You might be a redneck if…
- * it never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase “one nation, under God”… or by seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places… or by hearing “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Winter Holiday”
- * you bow your head when someone prays, and you don’t feel uncomfortable or ashamed.
- * you prefer music talks about love, hard work, honesty, and fighting for your country… more than it talks about selling drugs, hitting women, and committing murder
- * you stand up straight (if able), remove your hat, and place your hand over your heart when you hear the National Anthem
- * you treat our armed forces veterans with great respect, and always have
- * you’ve never burned an American flag, never picketed a military recruiting center, and never shouted into the face of a policeman
- * you know what you believe and you aren’t afraid to say so, no matter how many leftist censors are listening
- * you raised your kids to respect their elders, say please and thank you, and own up to their own mistakes
- * you’d give your last dollar to a friend… or go immediately to help a neighbor… or deliver a veterans’ widow some dry firewood on a cold winter day… or fight a raging fire inside a stranger’s home
Sure wish I knew who really wrote this, but kinda glad I found it
Happy Almost Halloween

Comments (0)As you consider the candidates, consider the words of John Adams
Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.

Comments (0)As a firm believer that along with “rights” comes “responsibility”. We each have a responsibility to learn about the candidates and then to choose wisely those who seem best for the entire country, not just our own immediate gratification.
There are many things to consider as you choose your candidate. Here is one of the many quotes of Thomas Jefferson’s thoughts that have affected my thought process:
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

Comments (2)THE FINAL INSPECTION
author unknown
The Soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass..
‘Step forward now,Soldier ,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?’
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
‘No, Lord, I guess I ain’t.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can’t always be a saint.
I’ve had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I’ve been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn’t mine to keep…
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear..
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I’ve wept unmanly tears.
I know I don’t deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears
If you’ve a place for me here, Lord,
It needn’t be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
‘Step forward now, you Soldier,
You’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets,
You’ve done your time in Hell.’

It’s the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us the freedom of the press.
It’s the Soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us the freedom of speech.
It’s the Soldier, not the politicians
That ensures our right to Life, Liberty
and the Pursuit of Happiness..
It’s the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag.
If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition
and appreciation for the Military,
Please pass this on and pray for our men and women
Who have served and are currently serving our country
And pray for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom….
THESE COLORS DON’T RUN
AMEN!
