Having worked my way thru most of the recordings/reports by Queens DA employee Michael Arimenti (sp?) – Yes, I do wonder just a bit who helped him decide how to present his findings. But mostly I wonder why he allowed someone NOT in law enforcement to participate and in some cases lead the supposed interview as if it was a interrogation of a suspect in a tv crime drama.

Facts Matter: There is No “WEST YONKERS”
Apparently this misleading information began to be circulated as a result of an incorrect minor but annoying error in reading a copy of Birth Certificate issued by the City of Yonkers.
Typically the old “hand written” details on a birth and death certificates as well as Various Licenses such as Drivers & Divorce and maybe marriages (I was not married in NY so don’t have one of those to reference), shows a location (address or hospital) followed by the COUNTY – usually abbreviated since many of the 62 counties in NY have rather long names. In my case WEST is the abbreviation used for Westchester County, followed by the City/Town/Village/etc. Today’s documents likely include Zip Codes
As an aside, Zip codes were not introduced until the early 60’s. I remember this because I was “given the job” to go to the local main post office and use their copy of the “reverse/address directory” to get the correct zips codes for mailing monthly bills to our customers.
Within the City of Yonkers, areas have “been known as” but these alias are not actually legal and for those who value factual details, are not helpful. Further, even as colloquialisms are not helpful and certainly not used by those “from Yonkers”.
As it happens, my family lived in what is often referred to as “North West Yonkers” But no, except for the improperly informed – not “West Yonkers” Oh, and No, YONKERS IS NOT PART OF NEW YORK CITY – it is North of the Bronx not, as I have read recently a part of the Bronx.
The above details of a birth certificate issued in “most of NYS” and definitely in the 1940’s & 50’s in located with in the COUNTY of Westchester in the CITY of Yonkers.

Hopefully the aerial view shown below will clear up a few details. It seems to have been taken in late summer. Unfortunately I was not able to find one taken in Spring.
There seems to be some confusion as to where our dog, Harvey was at the time he was shot. And of course the most likely place the person who shot him could have been standing. You will see a small red x – placed at the South East Corner of our property. It was not filled with anything at the time except the wreck of my first motorcycle (the 2nd one was in the Garage)
As most serious researchers know, we heard 2 possible 3 shots. One passed thru Harvey’s leg and into his chest and eventually logged close to his spine. If you are curious about the likely bullets used, there is a some info at: https://wheatcarr.com/2022/08/05/bullet-diameter-and-weight/
Again different today, for those who would like a bit more detail, almost every one of the homes On on Grove Street had access to the Croton Aqueduct. Notably It was either between the 2nd and 3rd or 3rd and 4th that those of us who had to trudge up that hill to get to Gorton Jr or Sr High School would cut thru to Glenwood – taking a few blocks off the hike.
The driveway for 322 Warburton (our neighbor on the north side) was also used by many and then thru up the driveway to the backyard and then onto the Aqueduct. Cut across to where there was access to Wicker & Glenwood. Later, in the mid to late 80’s many of the homeowners started blocking their stairs because of vandalism.
No, I cannot answer and choose not to speculate why some of these details may have been left out of the various police reports or “theorist” who had access to the information.
Hopefully this will clear up some of the misleading statements of others who were not there, have made it clear they do not think accuracy is important if it requires them to admit an error of fact and so lacked complete details to make proper assumptions.
