  Backs of pants do not have zipper/button opening in the center (that I know of)

  Looks to me like the pockets are designed in an interesting way, however.

  Nope, it’s not just you. I’ve never seen ‘normal’ rear pockets on the front before either.

  I have had a pair of pants that zipped up the middle – however, no pockets on the front or back of pants. They were form fitting to say the least
